Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Russell is a Florida-Licensed Audiologist and owner of North Florida Hearing Services Inc., a private Audiology practice specializing in the prevention, assessment and treatment of noise-induced hearing loss and tinnitus.

Dr. Russell earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Richmond, a Master’s degree from the University of Florida and an Au.D. degree from the University of Florida. Dr. Russell worked at Providence Speech and Hearing Center in Orange, California and at Hamdan Ear, Nose and Throat Center in Perry Florida prior to forming North Florida Hearing Services in 2006.

In addition to being a CAOHC-Certified Professional Supervisor and CAOHC-Certified Course Director,  Dr. Russell holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the National Hearing Conservation Association.

As a consultant to military, industrial and private clients, Dr. Russell provides professional audiological support of hearing conservation programs including audiological testing, audiometric review, identification, evaluation and age-correction of standard threshold shifts as well as fitness for duty evaluations. He has provided hearing loss claim review and expert opinion. He provides advanced hearing aid evaluation and fitting to those individuals who have significant hearing loss with a high satisfaction rate over 16 years of practice. His interest in noise-induced hearing loss stems from his direct experience with noisy environments as a boat captain, musician and professional wooden boatbuilder. Dr. Russell works closely with his clients in order to insure that compliance with occupational noise standards serve to prevent hearing loss.
